Nature Programs

Junior Naturalist Programs 2010:

Join park naturalists for this line up of free family programming! Kids grab your parents, uncles, aunts, or whoever and meet us every Tuesday (July 6th - August 31st) during the summer at 10:30 am for an interactive adventure at the Wasaga Trail Centre. Junior naturalists will discover neat nature facts, amazing local plants and wildlife, and loads of awesome games and activities. We will be outside for most of the 1-hour programs so please wear proper footwear, and remember to bring water and sunscreen.

 

Guided Hikes 2010:

Join park naturalists for a chance to reconnect with nature and discover a new part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Every Wednesday (July 7th - August 25th) during the summer, meet at the Wasaga Trail Centre at 9 am for a 1 hour hike. Park naturalists will lead you through the trails and into the dunes, helping you better understand this fragile ecosystem and gain an appreciation for the wildlife and plants who call this area home. We will be hiking on the trails so be sure to wear appropriate footwear, and remember to bring water and sunscreen.

 

Evening/Campfire Programs 2010:

Join park staff at Nancy Island for evenings to remember! Each Thursday night at 8 pm (July 8th to August 26th) we will be hosting a "Spirits of the Fire" campfire and everyone is welcome to attend. These evenings will be full of surprise and intrigue taking a look into the history of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Theatrical performances, ghosts of the past and the magic of mystery will keep you coming back for more! Each week we will host a different topic and you will quickly discover there's more to the beach than just sand! We look forward to seeing you!
