PARK SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Friends!

Since the development of the Friends of Nancy Island and Wasaga Beach Park in 1997, the park has benefited from this committed group of individuals who dedicate personal time to ensuring the continued success of educational and interpretive programs in the park. The added benefit of the financial support for programming including; Eastern Hog-nosed snake research and Piping Plover monitoring programs, park displays and exhibits, and special events is praiseworthy. These efforts are valued as they move our natural and cultural objectives forward.

It is our hope that through the friend's contribution, the real beneficiaries are the public at large. More education programs, leading Eastern Hog-nosed snake research findings, stewardship of the Piping Plovers, special events including, Spirits of the Fire and Wasaga Under Siege, and the operation of the Treasure Chest Store at Nancy Island Historic Site reflect this commitment. In addition, their contributions have lead to new park related publications, provisions of staff at Nancy Island, and the enhancement of props and technology for the interpretive programs.

Our friends are a valued link to our community and truly help to promote the true values of our protected areas.

John Fisher, Superintendent
Wasaga Beach Provincial Park
